Firm Introduces New Fire Equipment As the incidence of fire disasters cost individuals and businesses several millions of naira HTM International Nigeria has hit the Nigerian market with fire fighting equipment designed to fight fires of different forms and at different height. Speaking during the launch of the equipment in Lagos the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the company, Tinu Abiola Alade explained that the worrisome state of the fire fighting infrastructure in the country was the major reason why HTM ventured into the provision of Fire Fighting equipment to protect lives and properties. Alade said their equipment which includes Truck, Crane, nozzles and pumps are to help improve safety of life and property in oil installations and rigs, factories and manufacturing outfits, Airports, Sea Ports, Markets and high rise corporate offices of both the public and private sector. She said that one of the big problems that safety personnels face when they are fighting Fires is that they usually cannot ascend to positions high enough to put them at vantage points to put out the fire. She however stated that HTM fire equipment are capable of taking personnel and equipment several hundreds of feet above the ground to ensure that they can fight the fire effectively. She said the equipments also serves the purpose of reducing casualties in the event of fire disasters in high rise building where people are trapped in top floors. She said the equipment can rise to the top of the building where people are trapped and carry at least 10 persons at a time to safety. "Our elevating platform fire fighting truks are designed to stop fires at high altitudes and also evacuate 5-10 persons from such high places during a fire out break," she said. She said that HTM also embarks on training programme on how to operate their equipment and other basic firer fighting techniques. She said the can under take the training of the safety teams of Corporate Organizations and Government either here in Nigeria or in China where most of the equipment are manufactured depending on the request of the clients. She said spare parts supply for their products are guaranteed beyond the preiod of guarantee and that the firm will give free service to their clients for one year with service consumable.
