Let
Fayose be
Kindly allow me a space in your esteemed
newspaper to air my view on the efforts of Dr. Ayodele Fayose at transforming
our young State, Ekiti State, to a better place than he met it.
Though a lot of critics have criticized the manner in
which this dynamic young man has been going about this onerous task of pulling
the State up by the bootstraps as it were, the string of achievements put in
place during the last 15 months attest to the fact that given the desired
support and wherewithal by all and sundry, Ekiti State would definitely
prosper.
Though the list on Fayose’s achievements in
this short spell and his propensity to do more, one is not in doubt that
compared to past rulers, since the creation of the State in 1996, he towers
above all of them, achievement wise.
For now, the name on the lips of most people in the
State from the Students, Market women, Civil servants, Teachers, old and young,
is Fayose in acknowledge of his efforts in toweling their lives.
Indeed, from the provision of roads, health care
delivery, electricity, potable water, building of markets, free and qualitative
education, housing, transportation and name it, Fayose has left an indelible
mark and he is still continuing.
It would be a thing of joy if he could be allowed to
concentrate on this task instead of being distracted by those who have their
eyes on 2007 when it is still a long way ahead.
My advice is that Fayose should reach out to all and
sundry as he forget ahead while those opposed to him should hearken to the
biblical injunction which says that those who pray for the peace of Jerusalem
shall prosper. Those who hold the welfare of Ekiti close to their hearts will
prosper. Enough of this
mudslinging. Let Fayose be.
