subscribers
By Emma Okonji
IT. Telecom Reporter, Lagos
Corporate subscribers to Starcomms would henceforth
begin to enjoy the services of online businesses, as the firm, one of the
leading fixed wireless operators, says it has concluded plans to assist its
corporate subscribers in building their businesses online through the hosting
of services support available on the platform of its recently launched data
services.
Chief Executive of Starcomms, Mr. Dirk Smet, who
disclosed the information, said the plan was in line with the company’s
vision of offering a wide range of innovative products and services that offer
value for money.
According to him, the network plans to run its data
services through the provision of connectivity and hosting services to
intending customers, explaining it has installed state-of-the-art data
facilities to support the planned online business support.
The online business support would be driven by
three-pronged hosting services plans, which include shared hosting, virtual
private server and managed hosting.
Under the shared hosting plan, Starcomms will provide
high-quality hosting support services to subscribers on the UNIX and Windows
2003 platforms. With Virtual Private Servers (VPS), there will be dedicated
hosting platform for large organisations, which have need to grow their websites’
functionality.
The Managed Hosting plans allow subscribers to place
their hosting needs in the hands of Starcomms experts, who would ensure their
satisfaction, as well as the provision of unique opportunity to maximise
websites possibilities.
Smet added that subscribers would also enjoy
unlimited data capabilities and e-mail management on the Managed Hosting
platform.
