Governor Ibrahim Saminu Turaki of Jigawa State has uncovered a N600 million fraud involving about 50 staff at the Government House, Dutse. Subsequently, he has ordered the sack of many of his aides working in Government House, and the redeployment of others. The governor also accused the affected officers of leaking secrets to the opposition. A very reliable source told Daily Sun that the scam was unraveled when the governor visited the Government House Clinic and discovered that there were no drugs. An angry Governor Turaki, it was learnt immediately directed a verification exercise, which eventually revealed corrupt practices that were going on in the Government House. Acting swiftly, the governor ordered the sack of affected officials and a reshufflement of those with minor links to the fraud. The source, who spoke to Daily Sun in Dutse, described Turaki’s action as long overdue, saying "these people have bled Jigawa dry. The racket has been going on for long.
