Alli Strengthens Govt Machinery

Plateau State Administrator, Maj. Gen Chris Alli (rtd) has said the machinery of the state government has to be repositioned and strengthened to provide qualitative and quantitative services to the people of the state.
Alli made this disclosure yesterday while swearing in Special Advisers and inaugurating the newly constituted Primary School Board.
The administrator affirmed that in his quest to enhance hope, confidence and satisfaction for the teeming populace, he had to enlarge the scope of participation of illustrious citizens of the state.
"The number of Special advisers has been increased to five to accommodate the multiple responsibilities of government which can only be tackled through a concerted effort. It is hoped that the new composition, the current team will be able to inject greater vision and vitality into the operational capacity and efficiency of government.
He charged the advisers to understand their role to be supervising and overseeing relevant ministries and portfolio assigned to them adding that they should employ all schemes of their resourcefulness to promote government and its policies.
To the three man Primary Education Board, Alli declared that because his government would not tolerate any form of mediocrity, he expect them to consolidate on the achievement so far recorded by the state government in the primary education sector.
He explained that the former board was dissolved because its tenure has expired, saying that government reconstituted the board with the view to providing challenges for the appointed members who are expected to achieve new targets.
"Members are charged to be open minded, committed, ingenious, honest and transparent. Government will not tolerate any form of mediocrity because of its noble intention to strengthen primary education as the pillar for educational growth and advancement. It is the belief of government that the effective contributions of its various apparatus will provide additional impetus to the success of the peace initiative. We cannot talk of peace in isolation to other aggregates which foster understanding, happiness, harmony and stability in the complex society."
The special advisers include barr Jonathan Yusufu Pam, Attorney General, Thomas Kangna'an Special Adiver on Resettlement & Rehabilitation; Dr. Joseph Golwa Special Duties, Mrs. Jummai Datyem women Affairs and Mrs. Mary Y Maisamari Social Services.
Mrs. Benedict Nakup Gwamen is the chairman of the Plateau Primary Education Board while Elisha Amanchi aGeorge Dakur are perm,anent member 1 and 11 respectively.
