Globacom League: League Decider Generates Tension
As Iwuanyanwu hosts Enyimba

The match that most likely determine the winner of this year's Globacom League is this evening's rescheduled week 29 encounter between Enyimba of Aba and Iwuanyanwu Nationale of Owerri which is already generating tension.
Speaking on phone from Owerri, Iwuanyanwu Natio-nale's Chairman, Engineer Ignatius Okeahialam said, "Our opponents want to stop us from winning the match. I know they are not God. They are doing the unimaginable things to stop us. We are not bothered. We rest our faith in God."
He reasoned: "We feel strongly that the proceedings should have been left with the better side winning the match. This is a club we gave all the support to win the African Champions League with players on loan without taking a kobo. Yet, they want to stop us in a manner that is not sportsmaly."
According to him, "Nationale has one of the best technical crews, the boys are cool headed, and were geared up by support from the Imo State government. We are destined for the continent next season by the grace of God."
Okeahialam said the absence of Uzoma Ugwe, the League's highest goal scorer and Paul Obiefule both away on trials abroad, would not affect his side. "Even though we would have loved to have had them for the match. But we wish them the best in their quest."
Responding, Enyimba's Media Officer, Tony Chukwu said: "We have a legitimate ambition to win the league. We are not involved in any such charges against us from our sister club. Our ambition is to win the league three times consecutively."
In the first leg of the league, Enyimba won 2-1 with the reverse leg in Owerri being hotly contested as both parties need the three points at stake to be able to sustain the ambition to dislodge current table leader, Dolphin of Port-Harcourt. Dolphin has 56 points from 31 matches as against Nationale's 52 points from 30 matches with Enyimba having 50 points from 30 matches.
