CAC begins on- line transactions
By Dennis Mernyi
SpecialCorrespondent, Abuja
For more efficient and enhanced quality of service
delivery, the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) has commenced on-line
transactions ofall its businesses and other operations with the use of
electronic workflowthat would replace manual paper based processes.
The commission would now be processing all incorporationjobs
from available data entry and scanning of documents to generation
ofcertificates by means of the fully integrated web- enabled document
managementapplication.
The Registrar General of the commission, Mr.
AhmedAl-Mustapha, said in Abuja that the on-line system if fully operational,
thepresent five-day durations for the registration of company will be reduced
totwo days while the same day registration will be done in two hours.
Describing the previous manual nature of operations of
thecommission, which usually resulted to missing of company documents and
otherinconsistencies as unfortunate, Almustapha emphasized that the management
ofthe commission under his leadership has decided to introduce other
programmesthat would transform it into a modern and efficient company registry.
Because of the non-computerization and thenon-electronic
workflow of the operations of the commission in the past theprocess of
incorporation and other services which most times results intocongestion,
touting as well as some unethical activities, the commissionconsiders the new
innovation as the only option to realize our vision,he stated.
