President Sam
Nujoma of the Republic of Namibia has called on African leaders to work
together for the common goal of the people of the continent.
This declaration
was made in a statement by the Director of Press Affairs to the Governor of
Bauchi State, Alhaji Mohammed Abdullahi.
According to him,
President Nujoma made this remark when he granted audience to Muazu who visited
him at the State House, Windhoek.
Nujoma stressed the
importance of networking among African countries for the continent to defeat
external interference that has in most cases led to conflicts and disturbances.
He emphasised that
the necessity for unity among African countries was the basis for development
of the, noting that the pursuance of a virile economy through trade and other
business activities from Africans could only be realised if Africans respect
one another.
Nujoma expressed
his country’s readiness to assist Bauchi State in the development of its
tourism and wildlife. He directed the Ministry of Tourism to oblige any request
made by the State Government on translocation of some species of animals from
Namibia to Yankari Game Reserve.
Muazu had earlier showered praises on
Nujoma for his decision to step down from power, describing him as a great Pan
Africanist who followed the footsteps of Tanzania's late President Julius
Nyerere.
