Customs redeploys 23 comptrollers From Adelenwa Bamgboye, in Lagos No fewer than 23 comptrollers of the customs have been redeployed to new commands with immediate effect by the Comptroller-General of Customs, Mr. Jacob Gyang-Buba in a major reshuffle just as seven new ones were appointed to head area commands. Those redeployed, according to Mr Wale Adeniyi, Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), spokesman, include Comptrollers Jerry Alagbaoso of Calabar Port who now takes over in Tin Can-Island Port and Abiodun Adeogun who has been moved form Onne Port to Port Harcourt Area One. Others include Gabriel Aliyu moved from Kano to Calabar Port, Comptroller Nnanna K. A. from Tin Can Island to Warri Port, Compt-roller Eno Ofem from Warri to Kano/Jigawa, Comptroller Garba Makarfi from Port Harcourt to Kaduna/Katsina and Dr T. V. Anpe from Kats-ina/Kaduna to the Federal Capital Territory (FCT). The rest are, Daniel Jatau from FCT to Sokoto/Kebbi/Zamfara, Dr Kamel Yusuf from Abia/Imo to Borno/Yobe, Bello Abdullahi from Adam-awa/Taraba to Imo/Abia and Godwin Tingir from Wastern Marine to Kogi/Kwara/Niger. The seven new comptroll-ers redeployed from headq-uarter units include Comptr-oller Muazu Umar to head Adamawa/Taraba, John Atte (Ogun), Ahmed Aliyu (Onne Port) and Shakiru Yise (Wes-tern Marine). Others are Salisu Argungu (Customs Intelligence Unit), Sulieman I. (Murtala Moham-med International Airport) and Samuel Banye (Lilypond Command). According to the NCS spokesman, these are routine changes which were effected to enhance the operational efficiency of the service and sustain the current tempo of anti-smuggling activities nationwide.     TO NEXT NEWS PAGE...
