Ex-AD Govs Decry Afenifere's Recognition of Akinfenwa's Faction From Ademola Adeyemo in Ibadan Controversy over who is the authentic national chairman of AD continued yesterday as former governors of the party described the Afenifere's recognition of Chief Mojisoluwa Akinfenwa faction as not only 'illegal' but 'a wrong decision taken by partial leaders'. The former governors who met in Ibadan yesterday to deliberate on AD crisis declared that only a new convention can put an end to the leadership crisis in the party. According to the communique after the meeting the former governors who described themselves as a' major stakeholders' in AD condemned what they described as 'the devisive posture of Afenifere leaders in AD crisis' They also described those who attended the Akure meeting where the declaration was made as 'partial leaders who wanted to kill the party. The former governors Niyi Adebayo' Bisi Akande, Lam Adesina, and the representatives of former gorvernor of Ogun state Chief Poju Adeyemi and that of Lagos Hon Lambe Aro Lambo queried Afenifere' over itsrecognition of a factional leader.saying that 'Afenifere has no constitutionsl power to make such pronouncement.'
