Envoy Seeks Better Nigeria -Benin Ties From Toba Suleiman in Abeokuta Ambassador of the Republic of Benin, Mr Bernard Adekanbi, has called for a joint relationship between his country and Nigeria for the purpose of reducing crime, and promote economic development in an organised manner. Speaking during a visit to the Ogun State Governor, Otunba Gbenga Daniel at the Government House, Abeokuta, Adekanbi said the joint relationship would foster development of common resources and enhance security between the two countries. According to him, strengthening the relationship between the two countries would assist them to curb insecurity and eliminate trans-border child trafficking among others. He disclosed that a treaty would soon be signed between Nigeria and Benin Repulic, which he said, would provide legal basis for the joint relationship. Adekanbi added that the strategic location of Ogun State was very paramount to his government in executing the treaty. The envoy, expressed concern over security problem and child trafficking at the border areas and called for increased surveillance to stem the tide.
