Idris Debunks Rumour of Arrest From Yinka Kolawole in Lokoja Governor Ibrahim Idris of Kogi State, yesterday debunked rumour of his arrest at the Lagos International Airport, warning politicians against politics of bitterness and blackmail in the interest of good governance. A national daily (not Thisday) reported recently that Idris was caught with �700,000 on his way out of the country. idris warned political detractors to desist from blackmail and thanked thousands of supporters who paid him solidarity visit in government house yesterday, adding that the rumour was sponsored by his detractors and political opponents to dent his political image. His words "I hereby urge the media to refrain from being used as instrument of blackmail and violence." Earlier, the spokesman for the youth group who paid him a solidarity visit commended the governor for his maturity in the way he handled the purported arrest and urged politicians in the state to always desist from beating the drum of war.
