Gateway Bank Promotes 48
Gatewaybank Plc has announced the promotion of 48 staffers with effect from July 2004, in line with the corporate philosophy of rewarding deserving employees, thereby motivating them for higher performance.
The Managing Director/Chief Executive, Mr. Samuel Olatunji announced the promotions at a staff meeting recently.
Gatewaybank he explained operates a dynamic system with focus on responsibility, contribution and reward throughout the entire organizational hierarchy.
In the promotion exercise, three Senior Managers, Messrs Femi Obaleke, Rasaq Ibrahim and MSC Aviomoh were elevated to the position of Principal Managers while the Head, Consumer Banking Unit, Mr. Joseph Okunato was promoted Senior Manager.
Ibrahim holds B.Sc Banking and Finance and MBA degrees. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN). He has served as the Bank's Chief Inspector and Head of Internal Audit.
Aviomoh holds an MBA degree and was Group Head, Commercial Treasury. He was also the Abuja Branch Manager.
Obaleke holds B.Ed (Management Economics) and MBA degrees. He has served as the bank's Regional Manager, Up Country, and Port Harcourt Branch Manager.
The exercise also involved two Deputy Managers, one Banking Executive, three Senior Executive Assistants, Seven Executive Assistants, 13 Supervisors and 18 Assistant Supervisors, respectively, who moved up from their previous positions.
EIB Promotes 84 Staff
EIB International Bank Plc has promoted 84 members of its staff to reward hardwork and encourage high~r prodluctivity.
The promotion exercise, which covers all cadres of staff, witnessed the elevation of three Senior Managers to Principal Managers while four Managers were promoted to Senior Managers and two Deputy Managers to grade of Manager.
According to Management the promotion is predicated on hardwork, diligence and exemplary conduct. It enjoined staff to continue to work hard as all those who sufficiently prove their worth would not be left out in the continuous exercise.
The bank has embarked on gradual expansion of its branch network, which has witnessed the commissioning of Aba, BBA, (International Trade Fair Complex), relocation of Yaba branch and opening of a second and more customer friendly Ikorodu branch. It has equally opened Onitsha branch for business to connect with other dynamic business centers in Lagos and the east.
These branches, which indicate renewed commitment to the attainment of strong National business relevance are online real time to facilitate quick turnaround time and improved customer services.

The Board of Directors, Research Solutions Limited has announced the appointment of Mrs. Stella Okpala as Managing Director.
Okpala is a seasoned researcher who thrives on challenge and is genuinely passionate about the boundless possibilities for brand and corporate growth, through strategic decisions informed by research.
She brings to Research Solutions, a fine blend of rigour and creativity and combines strategic thinking with knowledge borne of years of experience on the job.

She holds a Master of Arts degree in Translation (French/English), University of Lagos, a Certificate of Proficiency in Research (AC Nielsen Burke Institute, Cincinnati) and has vast practical experience conducting and coordinating projects of both qualitative and quantitative nature, spanning a broad spectrum of industries and successful multi-national brands, across sub-saharan African markets.
Okpala is an active member of The World Association of Market Research Professionals (ESOMAR), The South African Market Research Association (SAMRA). She is also a member of the steering committee of The Nigerian Market Research Association (NIMRA).
