Redefine NDDC Composition, Legislator Urges FG From John Iwori in Yenagoa A call has gone to Federal Government to redefine the composition of the membership of the Niger Delta Development Comm-ission (NDDC) to reflect the purpose for which it was initiated. The Chief Whip of Bayelsa State House of Assembly, Hon. (Chief) Robert Enogha, who made the call while speaking to newsmen in Yenagoa, observed that the commission is yet to produce the desired impact to its stakeholders since it was set up over three years ago. This, he said, was because of the fact that the composition of the commission is politicised to include areas outside the core states of the Niger Delta region. According to the lawmaker, representing Ogbia Constitu-ency II, the idea for the establishment of NDDC was initiated in Yenagoa by the leaders of thought in Bayelsa, Delta and Rivers States, and sold to Federal Government with the intent of addressing the under development as well as the perceived neglected of the people of the region.
