Cleric Commends FG over Reforms From Juliana Taiwo in Abuja Primate of the Church of the Lord (Aladura), the Most Rev. Dr. Rufus Okikiola Ositelu, has commended Federal Govern-ment for its current reform programmes in the country. Ositelu in a press statement signed by Deaconess Olu-bunmi Badejo, said programmes such as the National Economic Empowerment De-velopment Strategy (NEEDS), Due Process, Service Delivery and Monetisation, if properly implemented, are bound to transform the socio-economic and political life of Nigeria and indeed Nigerians for the better. Ositelu said this during the 2004 Mount Tabierorar festival in Ogun State. He stressed that the Due Process for instance would ensure transparency, merit, fairness and discourage over invoicing and abandonment of projects by contractors, while Service Delivery would ensure that those elected to serve would not only do so diligently, but be held accountable for their actions. The Primate however urged implementors of the policies to be courageous, honest, tenacious and above all lead by example to achieve results. He called on both the leadership and followership to help rid the society of corruption. Also in the statement, the Primate described as tragic and barbaric the recent discovery of human skulls and corpses at Okija and urged both Federal Government and the police to bring the culprits to book. He advised the youths to eschew cultism, exam malpractices and imbibe the culture of a decent dress code, adding that parents have a divine duty to bring-up their children morally right from infancy.
