Group Charges Youths on Devt From Daniel Ior in Makurdi A non-govermental organisation, Youth Adolescent, Reflection and Action Centre (YARAC) has called on youths in the country to take positive and proactive steps that would redefine their contributions to nation building as well as provide safety measures that would guaranttee their prospects as future leaders. The position of the NGO was drawn from a five-day workshop targeted at refocusing the youths for greater challenges and responsibilities in the country held at Patoral Centre, Makurdi. Participants at the workshop regretted that at the moment youths in the country were being misused and denied those opportunities that would refocus them and effectively reposition them ahead of their envisaged leadership roles. To overcome these challenges, the workshop said the youths should adopt more proactive measures and be more coordinated and mobilise themselves to collectively contribute to nation- building activities. "The objectives of this training are to reposition youths for increased partipation in the govenance of their communities and the larger societies. Build and connect youth diversities towards a united Nigeria," the workshop observed. The political class, the workshop noted, was yet to positively reposition the political culture to adequately address issues of economy, representative leadership, political tolerance as well as issues of religious differences and social interaction.
