Kwara South PDP Commends National Body From Tunde Sanni in Ilorin Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Kwara Southern Senatorial district has commended the national body of the party for recognising the party structure put in place in November 2001 by the party congresses. In a communiqu� signed at the end of its stakeholders/district executive committee meeting in Ipee in Oyun Local Government area, the party contended that the recognition has put to stop factional claims in the state. In the communiqu� signed by Chief Timothy Olatoke and Hon. Sunday Olaoye, Senatorial Chairman and Secretary, the party advised that the structure from the executive at the state, local government and ward levels should remain intact. The meeting mandated elected officials at the November 2001 congresse to hold on to their mandate and hold meetings regularly in line with the party rules and regulations. The senatorial meeting resolved to protect the interest of the district at all times and abide by the guidelines of the party in the pursuit of their interest. "That we are resolved that the interest of Kwara South Senatorial district is not negotiable and we must all strive to resist any attempt to compromise our interest or to subvert democracy in the state," the statement observed. The meeting advised the state Governor, Dr. Bukola Saraki, to embrace all stakeholders in the polity in running the state. "We re-emphasised our condemnation of the on-going ethnic marginalisation and unwarranted retrenchment of the Kwara South Senatorial district indigenes from our higher institutions and public services," it said. The senatorial meeting affirmed its commitment to the emancipation of their people from the social, economic and political strangulation.
