Arabel MD Decries Indecent Dressing
Lagos
By Iheanyi Alozie

Chief Executive Officer of Arabel Exclusive Islamic Materials Limited, Mrs Sherifah Abiola Audu, has condemned indecent mode of dressing among Nigerian women especially, the young ones. She described the mode as absurd and it negates universal and religious acceptable norms.

She attributed this unbecoming attitude of dressing nude to the influence of the globalisation and access to computer, internet and home video without adequate education, control and monitoring of what are being passed on to our young ones who she said are most vulnerable to the negative impacts of the effects of globalisation.

She observed that women generally and religiously are required to cover all parts of their body to command respect from people around and remarked that those who dress indecently portray themselves as products of gutter families who have no fear of and respect for God.

Audu made the condemnation during a session with pressmen at Arabel corporate head office in Ikeja, Lagos when she unveiled her company's plans for one month nationwide exhibition to showcase their products and services scheduled for September 2 to 5, in Abuja.

According to the CEO, the exhibition which is expected to showcase the best of islamic products will move to Ni'imah Hotel in Kano from 9th through 12th and that of Kaduna coming up between 16th and 19th, while it will be held in Gusau Hotel, Gusau as from 23rd to 26th September before terminating Lagos, the nation's commercial capital as from 30th September to 3rd October with a book launch on the values of islam as a religion of peace.

She said the next phase of the road show/exhibition would take the company to selected cities in the North East, North Central, South West, South East and South South, adding that the project will run for 18 months.

The CEO disclosed that the exhibition was aimed at not only refocusing Arabel as the foremost indigenous company that exclusively caters for islamic needs, but also aimed at further expanding the scope of the company and create the much needed awareness about the products and services which she said, were of the highest quality and at affordable prices to a wider clientele across the nation.

She said the project which would showcase varied products such as islamic literature, gift items, interior and exterior decorations, clothing and wedding outfits/souvenirs, greeting cards and books is further an attestation of the fact that young entrepreneurs in the country are clearly subscribing to the call by President Olusegun Obasanjo to look inwards as well as Arabel's corporate objective to further project islam positively.

Audu enjoined all Nigerians, to avail themselves of the opportunity offered by the exhibition to pick some of the products at reduced prices for friends, relatives and the less-privileged in the society.
