6 Robbers Killed Bauchi From Segun Awofadeji in Bauchi Bauchi State Police Command has smashed an armed robbery gang and killed six of them on Bauchi - Gombe Road barely two weeks after it killed another nine on Bauchi - Kano Road. Displaying the corpses before newsmen and other residents at the State Police Command Headquarters in Bauchi, Commissioner of Police, Alhaji Mukhtar Abbas, said the six armed robbers were killed in a shoot-out at Alkaleri. Abbas also said three more suspected robbers were shot dead at Ganjuwa on the same day while others were still at large. Abbas said five cows thieves were arrested with a Nissan bus which they used to operate and transport to other parts of the country. He disclosed that another burglar had also been arrested in addition to two other dupes (419ner) in the State, and restated the commitment of the State Police Command towards making the State a crime-free area. Abbas thanked the Government for its support in combating criminals and called on the general public to continue to cooperate with his men and officers in the discharge of their statutory functions in the State. The Commissioner urged the populace to disregard the rumour of "disappearing" of male reproductive organ, warming that the command will adequately deal with anyone causing confusion. According to him: "This is a false alarm as it has been medically proved that a male organ cannot disappear, but due to stress, it can only shrink.
