Chief Thomopulos, mother of the Chief Executive, Guardian Press Limited, Mrs. Maiden Ibru and mother-in-law of the Publisher, Dr. Alex Ibru will be laid to rest at the Ikoyi Cemetery.

According to a statement by the deceased's family yesterday, the week-long funeral rites will end on Sunday at the Our Saviour's Church (Anglican Communion), Tafawa Balewa, Lagos at 8.00 a.m.

Kicking off the burial rites will be the service of praise and worship, which will hold today at her residence, 3 D' Alberto Road, Palmgrove Estate, Lagos at 6.00 p.m.

Tomorrow, December 2, 2004, at the Atlantic Leisure Garden of the Federal Palace Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos, a service of songs will be held in her memory.

Friday, December 3 is expected to be the busiest day of the funeral rites of the Koko-Kingdom, Delta State-born amazon. The Lying-in-State is expected to last for just one hour, precisely between 11.00 a.m. and 12 noon.

The funeral service follows at the Our Saviours Church (Anglican Communion), Tafawa Balewa Square, Lagos by 2.00 p.m., after which the remains of Chief Thomopulos will be interred at the famous Ikoyi Cemetery.

After the interment, guests will be treated to a grand reception and entertainment, which has been scheduled to hold at the Kingly Ground of the Atlantic Leisure Garden of the Federal Palace Hotel, Victoria Island.

The colourful traditional troupes from Thomopulos' community, the Koko Kingdom, will also perform in the farewell treat.
