Last Updated: Wednesday, December 1st, 2004 HOME | Previous Page Securities tribunal signs pact with US group   By Rotimi Fadeyi Senior Correspondent, Abuja   The Investments and Securities Tribunal (IST) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Government of the District of Columbia’s Department of Insurance, Securities and Banking (DISB) to provide mutual assistance and exchange information for the purpose of facilitating the performance of securities market. Specifically, the MOU would also cover securities market adjudication and regulatory functions under the respective laws, regulations and requirements of Nigeria and the District of Columbia in the United States. The MOU will also help the two bodies to maintain efficient, fair, safe and stable securities markets in Nigeria and the United States for the benefit and protection of investors. It would also serve as a framework for cooperation, increased mutual understanding and technical assistance to the extent permitted by local laws, regulations and requirements.         Copyright� 2004.
