Last Updated: Saturday, December 4th, 2004 HOME | Previous Page Ibori condoles C&S Church over Otubu’s death tunke-aye bisina Asaba Delta State Governor, Chief James Ibori has sent a message of condolence to the Sacred Order of the Cherubim and Seraphim Church headquarters, Lagos, on the death of the spiritual father of the order, Dr. Godfrey Itse Mene Otubu. Ibori in his condolence message said, “although the passing on of this great patriot, selfless and devout Christian leader is painful, we must be comforted that apart from bowing to death at a relatively mature age of 80, Baba left behind eminent disciples and children to carry on with his Christian disposition. “From the time of his induction as Baba Aladura in September 1986, it was clear that he was working under divine inspiration or how else could he have been able to credibly sustain the tempo and relevance of the church over the years. It is delightful to note that throughout his sojourn on this planet, Baba devoted his life to the service of God and humanity.” The governor noted that, “notwithstanding the deteriorating standard of morality in our society, I must observe that Baba left the stage with his integrity intact and while the ovation was still loudest.           Copyright� 2004.
