MONDAY , DECEMBER, 6, 2004           Commissioner warns contractors on quality work KANO state commissioner of education, Hajiya Balaraba Bello Maitama, has directed, contractors handling the construction of new class rooms and hostels at various secondary schools in the state to execute the projects on schedule. The commissioner gave the directives Thursday, during a meeting with the contractors at the conference hall of the ministry. Hajiya Balaraba Bello, explained that the government was making effort to ensure that students were provided with conducive learning and teaching environment in the state. She urged the contractors to conform with the standards of quality work is in line with the policies of the present administration. Haiya Balaraba Bello Maitama said she would soon commence unscheduled visits to the project sites to monitor the construction work. On his part, a spokesman of the contractors Alhaji Hadi Mustapha, said they would comply with all rules and regulations and most especially completion of the work in good time. The meeting was attended by the permanent secretary of the ministry, Alhaji Sani Abba Sumaila and directors of the ministry.
