MONDAY , DECEMBER, 6, 2004           Kiru community commends govt for ugrading school The chairman of Kiru Education development Association in Kano state� Alhaji Abdullahi Uba has commended the state government for up-grading Kiru junior secondary school. The chairman made the commendation when he led executive members of the association on a thank you visit to the Kano state commissioner for education, Hajiya Balaraba Bello Maitama, in her office. Alhaji Abdullahi Uba also praised the present administration for the establishment of a new junior Arabic secondary school at Kiru Yamma. He then appealed to the ministry of education to post qualified science teachers to the school for full take-off of academic activities. Responding, the commissioner, Hajiya Balaraba Bello, who was represented by the permanent secretary of the ministry, Alhaji Sani Abba Sumaila, emphasized the role of education in fostering socio-economic development in every society. Hajiya Balaraba pledged to look into their request with a view to meeting them.
