Ex-minister Kaloma Ali dies at 70 From Isa Umar Gusau, in Maiduguri Former Minister of Solid Mineral Resources in the General Sani Aba-cha administration, Alhaji Kaloma Ali is dead. He was 70 years. Late Kaloma Ali died yesterday at the Maiduguri Teaching Hospital shortly after he was flown home from England where he has been bedridden for months. Confirming the death, his son, Babaduna Kaloma Ali told Daily Trust that the former minister died at exa-ctly 12 noon, three hours after he returned from England. Born on November 11, 1934, Alhaji Kaloma Ali was known as one of the closest ministers to the late Abacha. He was a lawyer by profession and a staunch associate of the Abacha family. Alhaji Kaloma Ali is survived by seven children and a wife and has since been buried according to Islamic rites.
