Eaglets fail to fly ...qualified Nigeria’s Under-17 team, the Golden Eaglets, were held to a 0-0 draw by visiting Sierra Leone on Saturday in Abeokuta, in the second leg first round match in the African Junior Championship, which will be hosted by Gambia next year. Poor finishing robbed the Nigerians of a clear victory as they dominated proceedings especially in the first half. Skipper Daddy Bazuaye, Yakubu Akeem and Jubrin Ibrahim all missed well-carved out chances as Sierra Leone held out for a goalless affair. The Nigerian schoolboys have thus qualified for the next round of the tournament by virtue of the away goals’ rule having forced the Sierra Leone side to a 1-1 draw in the first encounter in Free Town.
