Polo: Makarfi extols Guinness’ involvement Governor Ahmad Muhammad Makarfi of Kaduna has praised Guinness Nigeria Plc for their involvement in sports sponsorship in the country. The governor, who made commendation during a curtsey call on him by managing director of Guinness Nigeria Plc., Mr. Keith Richards at Government House, Kaduna, said the company had set the pace and urged other private organisations to assist the state’s sports associations to promote sports in Kaduna. He commended them for being the main sponsors of this year’s Kaduna International Polo Tournament, noting that it was because of the high regards he had for the company that compelled him to receive them at short notice. Earlier, Guinness MD Richards thanked the governor for receiving them noting that the reception accorded them had shown he had high regards for Guiness. He said that Guinness won the right to become the main sponsors of the tournament having paid N80 million naira.
