3SC signs new players
SHOOTING Stars Sports Club has signed several new stars including Seyi Ogunsanya, Waheed Bello and El Kanemi goalkeeper Jude Edemba ahead of the new season.
Both Ogunsanya and Bello told www.kickoffnigeria.com why they have teamed up with the Ibadan darling team.
Enyimba dependable defender Ogunsanya said: "Enyimba have not sacked me but I can assure you that I will play for 3SC in the coming season. And like in 1998 when I helped the team to win the League under the then chief coach of the Shooting Stars, Zakare Baraje, I also promise to do the same under Godfrey Esu to win a continental ticket for 3SC in the coming season".
Ogunsanya added:" This time around I am back home for real. You are aware of the fact that I ranked among the three highest paid players in Enyimba alongside Obinna Nwaneri and Vincent Enyeama.
"This season they had offered me a new sign-on fee of N1.8 million for the new season. But because I am home sick and for the love of helping 3SC to win a continental ticket next season, I'm back in Ibadan."
"Also I think I have already paid my dues in Nigerian club competitions. I have won three leagues and CAF Champion League with Enyimba. So what else do I need to win there again than to come back home to help the club that made me," he added.
Bello is also staging a return to 3SC after stints at Kwara United, Enyimba and Berger. "If you can survive in 3SC you can survive anywhere. I want to win a continental ticket for Shooting after which I will move to Europe," said the left-sided forward, who also disclosed that he shunned lucrative offers from Lobi Stars, Elkanemi FC and NPA FC to join 3SC.
Elkanemi Warriors FC first choice in goal Jude Edemba and his teammate Nazarus Gervase and Jasper United midfielder, Eze Agbasionwe have also contacted 3SC.
"My mission in Ibadan is to play for 3SC. Shooting Stars are a big club side in Nigeria. When you play for 3SC you will get the needed exposure unlike playing for the clubs in the North," Edemba offered.
"That is the reason I want to join the club. I know by the time I play well for this team, I will get the chance of playing for the Super Eagles again."
The star attraction at the screening exercise personally supervised by the new coach of the club, Godfrey Esu, Jasper United's Eze Agbasionwe has told Kick Off he was yet to agree personal terms with 3SC.
