WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 8, 2004           Lack of water worries municipal councillor THE councellor representing Chedi ward in Kano Municipal council, Hamza Ibrahim Chedi (Babale), has said in an interview that the major problem facing his ward, is lack of water especially in Chedi, Ciromawa and Darma Quarters of the area. Hamza Babale who spoke to Daily Triumph in an interview, explained that he contacted the managing director, water board who promised to assist in tackling the problem of which the people have started seeing the positive result. On his relationship with the council chairman, and his colleagueBabale said there exists understanding and respect betewen them, saying that eight month in office, the chairman had worked tirelessly for the betterment of all. Turning to his people, the councillor said that he enjoyed their support and cooperation all the times. On projects executed in his ward, Shedi said that drainages were constructed at Alkantara and Darma quarters with electricity transformer installed at Alkantara, adding that he personally assisted on education, and health matter by distributing forms to students to further their education at tertiary institutions as well as settled school and exam fees, and plan to distribute exercise book to school pupils. He then called on the people, to give him advice and show him his mistakes, for his benefit and the ward.
