WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 8, 2004           Pillars, BON, Buffalo may not play in Kano By ADO SALISU FEW weeks to the 2005 Premier League, Pillars Football Club, according to findings, may after all, not play its home matches in Kano due to poor condition of the state stadia. Investigations conducted by Daily Triumph Sports revealed that apart from the state darling team, Pillars, Bank of the North (BONstaff) and Buffalo who are to compete in the professional league division one may have to shift venues to neighbouring states. Daily Triumph Sports gathered that both Sani Abacha and Pillars stadia are not in good condition for the league matches. Further survey carried out by Daily Triumph Sports revealed that as at yesterday, despite the presence of contractors handling the parametre fence project at the Sani Abacha Stadium, there is nothing to write home about. Pillars stadium is similarly in bad shape, even as some of its doors and fences have been vandalised recently. Some fans who spoke on condition of anonymity called on the state government to, as a matter of urgency, address the issue squarely. They said that moving the clubs to neighbouring states may adversely affect their performances in the league. Efforts made to contact the state director of sports, Alhaji Ibrahim Abba, by our correspondent however, proved abortive but some sports council officials confirmed the poor condition of the Pillars Stadium.
