Last Updated: Saturday, December 11th, 2004 HOME | Previous Page Wife destroys matrimonial home over missing N100 sunday Michael reporter  A grade A magistrate court sitting in Yaba,   Lagos  during the week, heard how a housewife, Mrs Mary Fiye pulled down her matrimonial home over a missing N100 note. The housewife had dragged her husband, Philip Fiye to the court, seeking dissolution of their 10 years old marriage. But in a twist, the husband, a traditional healer told the court that his wife was troublesome. He recalled a particular incident one afternoon when he came back and met his wife “cursing and calling me unprintable names, alleging that I took her N100 note”. He said all entreaties to calm the woman fell on deaf ears. In annoynce, “I resorted to threaten her to leave the house. But before I came back from where I had rushed to, she used some implements to bring down the house”. He said it was a routine for them to disagree but that it was always resolved. The plaintiff in her testimony told the court that she was not married to Philip but that they both met and were “live in lovers” for the past 10 years without any issue. She said Philip had no place to live when they met and this prompted her to ask him to come and live with her. However, she said as soon as he packed in, she started noticing cases of missing money.
