FRIDAY, DECEMBER 10, 2004           Atiku graces closing of Qur�anic competition today From KABIRU YUSUF, Birnin Kebbi VICE President Atiku Abubakar is expected to arrive Birnin Kebbi, the Kebbi state capital today for a two-day state visit where he will grace the closing ceremony of the 19th edition of the National Qur�anic Competition. Alhaji Abubakar who will arrive Sir Abubakar III International Airport, Sokoto, around 9.45am is also expected to commission four multi-million Naira projects executed by the Kebbi state government in addition to laying the foundation stone of Birnin Kebbi Airport. On arrival, the vice president together with his host, Governor Adamu Aliero will head for Dagere, Ujariyo, Asarara and Guddare villages to commission electrification projects before proceding to Ambursa town where he will lay the foundation stone of Birnin Kebbi Airport. Later in the day, Atiku will commission Birnin Kebbi East city gate, Agaric roundabout and dual carriage way, Hafsat Eye Centre and Birnin Kebbi School of Nursing and Midwifery. Kebbi state government has organised a special reception in honour of the vice president and the Qur�anic recitation competitors at Banguet Hall of Government House, Birnin Kebbi in the evening, before attending the closing ceremony of the 19th Qur�anic competition the following day. Those expected to grace the occasion are the Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Muhammad Maccido, some state governors and other distinguished eminent Nigerians.
