FRIDAY, DECEMBER 10, 2004           Dala electorate get N2.58m motorcycles, others ELECTED officials of Dala local government area of Kano state, have donated 25 motorcycles 50 spaghetti machines, 144 bicycles and 30 sewing machines worth N2.58 million to different categories of people in the area. Disclosing this at the presentation ceremony of the items at Yelwa Primary Schools, the council chairman Alhaji Mahmoud Sani Madakin Gini, explained that the elected officials donated the items to the beneficiaries free of charge. He pointed out-that the gesture was part of the elected official determination to assists the people of the area with a view to alleviating unemployment. He added that the officials have expressed their readiness to continue to assist the electorates with a view to providing job opportunities as well as easing transportation difficulties in the area. Alhaji Madakin Gini then commended the people of the area for the support and cooperation they have been rendering to the council, saying that this initiative from the elected officials would be pursued continuously in order to develop the area. Our reporter learnt that the donation was made by the council chairman, secretary, supervisory councilors and advisers respectively. Also the chairman revealed that a concerned citizen of the area had promised to sponsored some of the officials of the council to embark on international tour to United States of America and Britain to study administrative system in order to promote and develop the local government.
