FRIDAY, DECEMBER 10, 2004           ...set to participate in Nasarawa bye-election The Alliance for Democracy (AD) is set to participate in Saturday�s bye-election for the Akwanga South state Assembly election in Nasarawa state. The exercise is sequel to the death of the State Assembly minority leader, Alhaji Abubakar Aruwa, in motor mishap along Akwanga-Jos road about four months ago. State Chairman of the party, Rtd. Capt. Isa Alushi told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Abuja, that the �AD has completed the screening of candidates for the poll and will contest the bye-election��. Alushi said that the party was fielding Malam Danladi Ma�aji, a youth leader in the area and a commercial motorists, for the position. He urged party members and supporters to ensure Ma�aji�s victory at the polls for �a progressive and pragmatic representation��. The chairman also advised the state-owned media and representatives of various media organisations, INEC security agencies to remain neutral during the exercise for the �sustenance of democracy and good governance�� in the state.
