Stories from FAROUK ADAMU YAKASAI, Gusau
GOVERNOR Ahmad Sani of Zamfara state has dispelled claims
that ANPP governors have abandoned their presidential candidate (rtd),
General Muhammad Buhari.
Speaking at a parley with Daily Triumph in Gusau,
Governor Sani stressed: We have never at any time forsaken our presidential
flag bearer.
It is not correct that just because we dont follow him
to tribunal we are not with him. Whenever there is anything relating to his
court case or any issue to his position as the partys flagbearer, we are
always with him in fact all governors are solidly behind him, he added.
Governor Sani maintained that even the ANPP presidential
candidate has in one of his press interviews debunked the allegation and is
quiet aware of the governors support for him.
On the recent Maiduguri NEC meeting of the ANPP, Governor
Sani revealed that all the crises within the party have been resolved.
Giving an insight into the resolution of the crises, he
stressed that the meeting was attended by 131 out of 154 members of the NEC
thus giving us 88 per cent, in fact more than 2/3 because members are tired
of crisis in the party, he stated.
According to him, initially, they (governors) had tried
to convene the meeting by making themselves available as vehicles towards
resolving the crises and even addressed the press in Abuja but when they
could not get the desired result, we were left with no option than to use
constitutional body, the NEC.
He explained that the meeting had led to the
reconciliation move between three governors of Sokoto, Kebbi and Zamfara
states.
We resolved to work together, the party is now intact, there is no
crisis at all, the crisis has been resolved and every member must abide by
decisions of the Maiduguri meeting, he added.
