Why Shekarau was elected, by Yarima
GOVERNOR Ahmad Sani of Zamfara state has
attributed the success of Malam Ibrahim Shekarau at the polls to the
overwhelming desire of Muslims to be governed by Islamic Sharia.
Governor Sani stated this during a parley with
Triumph team who called on him at the Government House, Gusau last Friday.
He also maintained that the Nigerian Muslims
have no any desire but to lead their lives in accordance with the dictates
of Islam.
If you look at the election of His Excellency
Shekarau of Kano state, was a testimony that Muslims are truly yearning and
aspiring for their lives to be governed by Sharia.
Governor Sani further observed that the support
Shekarau is getting from the people of Kano and Nigeria at large in the
achievements so far recorded of Sharia also goes a long way to show that
the Muslims of Nigeria are not only interested in Sharia but are ready and
willing to be governed by the Sharia legal system.
On his part, he said, he would continue to
thank Allah (SWT) for what his administration has been able to achieve
including the Muslim Ummah of Nigeria for their support and encouragement
that made us to achieve what we did in the past five years.
On his (Governor Sanis) posters that have
dotted major cities in Northern part of the country, he explained that he
has no knowledge of those behind calling on him to contest presidency in
2007.
I saw the posters just like you see them, as
far as I am concerned it is still not time for politicking, Buhari is still
our presidential candidate. We are still in court, adding: The 2003
presidential election is still being contested, so for anybody to print my
posters is still his own personal.
Governor Sani further stated that as far as
ANPP members and governors are concerned, the 2003 presidential election is
still unresolved.
The case before the court now is not even the final position
because we still have the chance and opportunity of going to Supreme Court,
so far anybody to start calling on anybody to contest, I believe it is not
yet time for that.
