MONDAY, DECEMBER 13, 2004           Zakirai assures new pensions board cooperation THE executive secretary Kano state Local Government Staff Pension Board, Alhaji Habibu Sulaiman Zakirai, has assured the newly inaugurated members of his board of his maximum support, cooperation and that of the entire staff in order to achieve the desired objectives. A press release signed and issued to Daily Triumph by Sani Tukur, public relations officer of the board, explained that Alhaji Zakari had described the appointment of the chairman of the board, Alhaji Salihi Ahmad Bichi as a blessing to it as well as the entire pensioners in the state. He described the chairman as a God-fearing, generous and dedicated person. The secretary stated this during the first meeting of the board members and staff. Among the officials present were the director administration services, Hajiya Binta Rabiu and director pension. Earlier, the chairman of the board, Alhaji Salihi Ahmad Bichi solicited the support and cooperation of the entire staff of the board in order to promote the activities of the board. Alhaji Bichi has assured the pensioners that their payment will continue to be made on or before 20th of every month. He also called on the pensioners to give notification letters three months to their retirement time for them to receive their benefit in three months. He urged the entire staff to be trustworthy and God-fearing in order to make the board as an institution to reckon with not only in the state but the entire federation. The chairman stressed the need to improve the general welfare of staff as an inducement for better performance. He also showed their readiness to embark on seminars, workshops and staff training in order to motivate staff and create more awareness on the activities of the board.
