MONDAY, DECEMBER 13, 2004           BONstaff FC in trouble By ADO SALISU ONE of Kano-based professional league clubsides, Bank of the North (BONstaff) Football Club, may not participate in the 2005 football season, Daily Triumph Sports can authoritatively reveal. According to investigations, barely four weeks to the commencement of the league, the bank is yet to approve and release the N30 million budget submitted to the management of the financial institution for the services of the club next year. Reliable sources close to the management of the club revealed that due to the non-availability of funds, officials have not met to decide on the players to be retained, those to be dropped and new players pencilled down for signing. �The sponsors have not said anything to us despite the fact that we sent our budget proposal long time ago but up till now, we have not received any feed-back. Everything is at standstill. Time is going,� the sources said. According to the sources, �if nothing positive is done, we may say bye-bye to the league. You cannot play without funds. Almost all the teams in the league have either completed or about to complete preparations for the new season.� The sources appealed to the bank�s managing director, Alhaji Garba Abdulkarim Yakasai, to look into the issues so as to enable the team make an impact in the league.
