Nwaneri, eight others set to dump Enyimba

Obinna Nwaneri, Onyekachi Okonkwo, Emeka Nwanna, Vincent Enyeama, skipper Uga Opara and Ekene Eze-nwa are among at least nine players of newly crowned African champions Enyimba who will dump the club for greener pastures in the coming year.
According to Kickoff-.com, Nwaneri, along with midfielder Onyekachi, has already agreed to a 5000 dollars a month salary with top South African club Orlando Pirates but a top Enyimba official said the big defender has been bombarded with “no less than eight other offers from overseas.”
His final destination is therefore unknown. Enyeama has been approached by Etoile, the Tunisian team Enyimba denied the CAF Champions League in Abuja Sunday, while striker Ezenwa is set to try his luck again in Tunisia after he tried out with champions Esperance earlier in the year.
Skipper Opara, on the other hand, is being released on disciplinary grounds. The two-time Africa champions are already very much aware of the massive exodus and have swung into action by not including the players on a provisional list for next year’s CAF Champions League.
Their final list of players for Africa’s richest club competition will be submitted to CAF latest 15 January and they are expected to pay a fine for late registration.
They have also signed up several replacements including Lobi Stars goalkeeper John Gaadi and Odey Ogar, Gabros skipper Chukwuma Eziagwu, Under-17 international striker Sunday Mba and Lawal Mohammed ‘Pele’, who has been cleared after a stint in Turkey.
“The People’s Elephant’ have also tried to hold on to some of their tried and trusted stars like Cup final hero Dele Aiyegnugba, David Tyavk-ase, Muri Ogunbiyi and Yusuf Mohammed.
