WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 15, 2004           Gwarzo chairman promises to carry women along THE chairman of Gwarzo local government of Kano state Alhaji Abdullahi Muhammad, has promised to work along with all women groups in the council with the aim of improving their economic well-being. Muhammad who gave the pledge in Gwarzo on Wednesday solicited the cooperation of women. He noted with delight the continued participation of women in cooperative societies which he admitted have gone along way in aplifting business activities at the grassroots. The chairman also stated that the council has established a trade and women were girl-child and women were taught soap making, tailoring, knitting etc towards discouraging street hawking in the local government. Muhammad further commended the womenfolk for responding positively to enroll in the programme.
