THURSDAY, DECEMBER 16, 2004           36 govs meet on Nigeria�s destiny THE 36 state governors of the federation yesterday held a crucial meeting at the Conference Hall of NICON Hilton, Abuja to discuss some pressing national issues. A press release issued to Daily Triumph and signed by Alhaji Sule Ya�u Sule, Director of Press and Public Relations to Governor Ibrahim Shekarau of Kano state indicated that issues hinging on politics were discussed. Though the meeting was held behind closed doors impeccable sources however, informed our reporter that other issues bordering on political situation in the country were discussed at the meeting, with particular reference to the current face-off between President Obasanjo and PDP National Chairman, Chief Audu Ogbeh. All efforts to get the details of the meeting proved abortive as the governors in attendance had declined comments and no communiqu� was issued. Governor Ibrahim Shekarau of Kano state who was among the governors that attended the meeting has since returned to Kano.
