Last Updated: Friday, December 17th, 2004 HOME | Previous Page Ebonyi inaugurates Child Rights Committee   By Jacob Mbam Special Correspondent, Abakaliki   Ebonyi State government has inaugurated the Child Rights Implementation and Monitoring Committee charged with implementing the United Nation Pan-African Union Convention Charter of the right of the child. Wife of the state governor, Mrs. Eunice Ukamaka Egwu, who was represented by the Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development, Mrs. Ugo Nnachi, told members of the importance government attached to issues of the right of a child. She added that as a result, the House of Assembly passed the child right bill into law. Mrs. Egwu said for the committee to start, it was necessary that all the stakeholders should be well involved, adding that this was to enable it to achive its aims and objectives.   Copyright� 2004.
