Lawless law enforcers
SIR: It is very unfortunate that in this present day Nigeria it appears that words are spoken so that an individual can be said to be alive. If not I can't understand why despite the order given by the Commissioner of Police for Lagos State, Mr. Israel Ajao policemen have refused to leave the roads.
This order was carried by both the print and the electronic media. Initially the policemen appeared to be complying but now they are boldly flaunting the order. So what's the hope of effective policing when the policemen themselves cannot obey their own superiors. Will there ever be an end to the 20 naira phenomenon? Mr. commissioner, please address this development before innocent people start getting killed or unnecessarily harassed again.
Adelolu Owseni,
Lagos
