FRIDAY, DECEMBER 17, 2004           Communities in Nassarawa ask for water Stories by BALA ABUBAKAR NASSARAWA local government council in Kano state has been urged to urgently construct boreholes to ease perennial water shortage affecting SAUNA residents and its environ. Speaking with Daily Triumph in an exclusive interview the spokesman of the community Alhaji Rabi'u Lawal, said the people have been suffering due to the acute shortage of potable water in the area. He said the problem of water shortage in the area has deteriorated to the extent that the people buys a 25 litre jerrycane at N15 instead of N10 sold previously. Alhaji Rab'u however appealed to both Nassarawa and Kano state government, to come to their rescue by constructing boreholes and hand pumps to alleviate their sufferings. The spokesman however enjoined the state government to improve possible ways to assist the communities. He appealed to the people to give maximum support and cooperation to the present administration to achieved its desire goals.
