FRIDAY, DECEMBER 17, 2004           Babura communities to provide hand pumps POLLING units from Babura local government, Kanya Babba and Jigawa development areas have jointly resolved to construct three hand pumps through the funds released to them by the Jigawa state government monthly. This was disclosed by the chairman of the council, Alhaji Aminu Kanta Babura, while speaking to our reporter in his office on Wednesday. He said the hand pumps will be located at Garin-Ganau, Kazunzumi and Masko newly established junior secondary schools. Alhaji Aminu Kanta said the gesture was intended to supplement the state government efforts towards revitalizing the education sector, and create a condusive atmosphere for learning. The chairman further stated that similar hand pumps will be constructed in the remaining ten newly established Junior Day secondary schools of the area. He reaffirmed his council determination to provide basic social amenities to all nooks and crannies of the area within its available resources. Alhaji Kanta called on people in the area to live in peace and harmony with each other, stressing that without peace no meaningful progress could be realized.
