FRIDAY, DECEMBER 17, 2004           Nnamani wants Ndigbo�s position known Enugu state governor Chimaroke Nnamani wants Ndigbo to articulate their position to ensure their continued relevance in the Nigerian polity. Nnamani made the remark when members of the national organising committee for the 2004 World Igbo Summit scheduled for Enugu on December 16 paid him a courtesy visit in Enugu. The governor said in view of the ongoing debate in the country, Ndigbo should not be left behind, but should make their voice heard loudly. Nnamani suggested that Ndigbo should use the summit to discuss their welfare and continue to be key players in national development. He pledged the preparedness of the government and people of the state to contribute to the success of the summit in terms of logistics and accommodation. Earlier, the chairman of the committee, Chief Okey Nwadinobi, had said the summit was designed to chart a new course for Ndigbo. He said the summit had been planned to discuss where Ndigbo were today and where they ought to be in the Nigerian polity. Nwadinobi gave the theme as �Ndigbo: Challenges and aspirations�� saying that prominent Igbo sons and daughters would present papers at the summit.
