FRIDAY, DECEMBER 17, 2004           Katsina LG election:  Ex-guber aspirant optimistic of ANPP's victory THE ANPP gubernatorial aspirant in Katsina state in the 2003 election, Engr. Nura Khalil has said he is ready to re-contest in 2007 if the people of the state invite him to do so. He told Daily Triumph in an exclusive interview in Katsina, that he is always ready to offer himself to serve people of the state Engr. Khalil explained that he contested governorship election because of the invitation by the people of Katsina and "I am ready to contest again if I am invited to do so." He insisted that available data before the ANPP indicated that the PDP had rigged the 2003 election in the state and the court was bias in ruling the case filed against the alleged election manipulations. Engr. Khalil then challenges the administration of Governor Umaru Musa Yar'adua to account for all the billions of Naira it collected from the federation account. On the forthcoming local government elections, Engr. Khalil said ANPP is aware of PDP's plan to rig the election again but "we would block all their ways this time around", he affirmed. He said that members of ANPP are directed to strictly monitor the movement of ballot boxes and counting of the election ballot papers would be done only at the venue of the election. He expressed optimism that ANPP will clinch the forthcoming local government election.
