FRIDAY, DECEMBER 17, 2004           Forum counsels politicians on Katsina LG election From Mu'awuya B. Idris Katsina Politicians in Katsina state have been advised to show maturity and understanding during the conduct of the forthcoming local government elections in the state. The state Arewa Youth Forum gave the advice in a statement jointly signed by its director of mobilization, Malam Kabir Abdullahi Maida and secretary, Malam Yusuf Jibrin respectively. The statement urged political parties to caution their members against breaking the law and order during and after the elections, advising people seeking for elective posts to preach peace among their supporters. The forum further appealed to political parties to ensure that free and fair elections are conducted. It enjoined youth clubs and associations not to allow themselves be used as political thugs to foment trouble. The forum however commended the member representing Bakori constituency in the state House of Assembly, Alhaji Mahmood Ahmad Bakori for tabling a motion for establishing a state university during one of the houses sessions. Similarly, the forum advised people in the affected local government areas to elect credible people who would provide social amenities and bring rapid development, to their areas.
