N622, 801, 228 and 84 persons lost their lives while 389 houses were
destroyed.

worth23,587,500 were purchased and distributed to the internally displaced
persons, while the sum of N12,770.000 was distributed to 1,971 identified
displaced persons.
He noted that the committee had recommended to the
government to construct town halls in eight metropolitant local government
areas where elders could meet and analyse problems before they get out of
control.
The chairman then expressed the appreciation of the
committee members for giving them the opportunity to serve at that capacity.
Responding, the state governor, Malam Ibrahim Shekarau
said the report and all the recommendations raised by the committee will
receive governments urgent attention.
Governor Shekarau pointed out that the report will
facilitate governments effort of finding lasting solution to such problems
in the state.
He reassured the victims of governments readiness to address their
plight, while pledging to implement the recommendations raised by the
committee.
