Ngige Disappears again � Increased police presence in Awka � Gov�s aides on the run, ADC missing Barely 24 hours after coming out of hiding, Anambra State Governor, Dr. Chris Ngige, has again disappeared. He addressed a crowd of supporters on Tuesday, then conferred with aids and vanished into thin air. He says he fears for his life. His vulnerable security situation was somewhat underscored by the withdrawal of policemen assigned to guard Government House and the Governor's Lodge in Awka. Government House is Governor Chris Ngige's office, the Lodge is his residence. Meanwhile, a lorry-load of over 100 mobile police men arrived Awka at exactly 12.15 midnight on Tuesday to take over security formations in the state. Police Public Relations Officer, Mr. Kolapo Shofoluwe, confirmed the withdrawal on Tuesday. He said the order for it came from the Inspector General of Police (IGP) and that it would remain in force until a new directive comes from the IGP. Daily Independent learnt from an anonymous source that the governor�s Aide-de-Camp (ADC) is missing, although Shofoluwe said the ADC is still on duty with Ngige together with a chief security officer (CSO). ...Court Restrains IG Balogun   Troops kill 5, arrest 47 Islamic radicals   AUDIO   VIDEO An Awka High Court presided over by Justice F.C. Nwizu yesterday restrained the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Mr. Tafa Balogun, and the Commissioner of Police, Anambra State, Mr. Donald Irohem, their servants, agents, prives and assigns from disturbing Anambra Governor Chris Ngige in performing his duties. Justice Nelson Nnaji of Enugu High Court had last Friday ordered the police chief to remove Ngige from office. A spokesman for the Yobe State government said 47 rebels had been detained since Friday and five killed, along with three women and two children caught up in a raid on their border hideout.
